This small, individual cheese comes from the Isère region of France. It is made from unpasteurised cow’s milk. It is often sold in little terracotta pots which serve to protect this delicate cheese. It has a very mild, salty flavour and is extremely creamy. Saint Marcelin is probably my favourite French Cheese. I absolutely love it with some fresh baguette or on a cracker with some fig jam. It also goes well with fresh fruit too such as apples or rock melon. I wanted to buy this cheese whilst I was in the UK but it was so expensive so if you happen to be in France and you come across it at the market or supermarket please, please try some. You won’t be disappointed.
